Whether you have an indoor or outdoor grill, I have the perfect grilled lemon pepper chicken recipe for you. I used my Ninja Foodi Grill to create this recipe and it was ideal because it’s easy to use, and ready in 25 minutes. I love the ease of an indoor grill because no matter what weather it is, it always comes in handy.
The Best Lemon Pepper Grilled Chicken
You can use chicken thighs, quarters, or breasts for this recipe. It really depends on you and what you’re in the mood for. I used chicken quarters and added Lawry’s Lemon Pepper Marinade in addition to my seasoning to give the dish that depth of flavor it needs. For the lemon pepper sauce, I used fresh lemon, Badia Lemon Pepper Seasoning, and honey.
The Technique
Grilling the chicken on high and starting out by grilling the chicken underside up first guarantees you’ll get some impressive grill marks on your chicken. The skin on the chicken burns easily so using this method gives your chicken the appearance of an outdoor grill and everyone knows you eat with your eyes first!
Ingredients
- 4 Chicken Quarters
- 1 Large Spoonful of Green Seasoning (see below)
- 1 tsp All Purpose Seasoning
- 1 tsp Chicken Seasoning
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Lawry’s Lemon Pepper Marinade
For Lemon Pepper Sauce:
- 4 tbsp Butter
- Juice of 1/2 Lemon
- 1 tsp Badia Lemon Pepper Seasoning
- 1/3 Cup of Honey
Directions
Preheat your grill on Hi (using Ninja Foodi Grill) Set the grill for 25 minutes. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Add green seasoning, all purpose seasoning, chicken seasoning, onion & garlic powder, paprika, and lemon pepper marinade. Massage into the chicken. When the grill reads ”Add Food”, add the quarters. Half way through, flip to the other side and continue cooking. Once chicken is finished, in a medium sized sauce pan or frying pan, melt 4 tbsp of butter. Squeeze fresh lemon, add lemon pepper seasoning & honey. Stir, and then pour over grilled chicken!
Oven Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Be sure to baste every 20 minutes to prevent the chicken from drying out. Remove from the oven, make the lemon pepper sauce, drizzle onto the chicken, and place back into the oven uncovered for 20 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
